Franciacorta Valley lies just about 70 kilometers east from Milan. A beautiful and quiet region of gentle hills covered
with vineyards.
Snow-capped Alps form the background while Iseo Lake marks the northern border of Franciacorta.
This small corner in Lombardy is worldwide known for his sparkling wines. Vineyards cover here about 3,000 hectares,
mostly of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Several small producers work together with world-famous brands such as Berlucchi and Bellavista.
Their bubbling whites can be good rivals of France’s Champagne.
We will stop in the late morning to visit one of the cellars and hear the story of this land and its wines.
There will be time for wine tasting and after that, enjoy a typical lunch in one of the best Agriturismo of the region.
After lunch, if weather permits, reach Iseo after a short scenic drive, for a nice and easy walk in the streets of the
old district and along the lake.
Iseo Lake has been chosen by world-famous artist Christo for his floating piers in 2016.
Piers connected the Italian largest lake island, Monte Isola to the mainland in Sulzano.
Just a few know this peculiarity: Monte Isola is famous as one of the main manifacture of soccer nets sold in the whole world.
In the afternoon free time for shopping at Franciacorta outlets and back to Milano.
